Environmental impact

In 2025, the NéALA organizing team is committed to hosting an eco-friendly conference, striving to minimize waste and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Travel is typically the main source of GHG emissions for a conference (at least 80%).

The Faculty of Law in Nancy, the conference venue, is located near the city center, just a 10-minute walk from the train station and accessible by Nancy’s public transport network. It is also a few minutes' walk from the CROUS restaurant, where lunches will be served.

To reduce our impact:

  • When traveling to Nancy, whenever possible, let’s choose train or carpooling over air travel or solo driving.
  • On-site, let’s prefer walking, biking, or taking the bus instead of using a car.

Food & Waste Reduction

Food is the second largest contributor to GHG emissions. To reduce our impact, we aim to offer meals made with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and a vegetarian alternative.

To minimize waste, you can help by bringing your own reusable bottle or cup for coffee breaks.

Eco-Commitment Certification

The NéALA conference aims to achieve Level 2 certification from the Eco-Manifestations Charter, an operational tool led by members of the EMeRGE (Eco-Manifestations Réseau Grand Est) network.

We are officially certified as eco-responsible event organizers.
